This was my first Revlon foundation. And the greatest ever. I have never been a fan of looking dewy by any means. This kept my icky teen skin so matte and smooth, it was wonderful. I loved shaking it up in the morning. It was runny but I didn't need much coverage if I used concealer and powder. It lasted quite a while. But eventually I did run out.
Revlon, why do you discontinue everything I love?

I purchased 15 tubes of this from the site that sells discontinued Revlon make up....I kept them all in the fridge, but had to throw them all away :( I think they were just too old to be good..the formula went on like alcohol, dried instantly....I could not blend, it went blotchy...I did not try mixing with lotions/primers, just got frustrated and tossed them all....oh well, I hope another company comes up with something like it, since I loved the bottle it came in and the matte formula...

This is the absolute, best stuff in the world! Doesn't feel greasy or thick like a lot of other foundations. I contacted Revlon and they told me of a "substitute" (the ColorStay) which was NOTHING like the original. I already bought some last year from ebay, thinking of buying again, but how long can you really keep this stuff???
Actually, the reason I'm here on this site is to find suggestions for a replacement. God, that stuff was just awesome.....sigh...

Dear Revlon, I am nearly finished my bottle in Buff. It is the only foundation that copes with my oily-tzone yet doesn't look like a mask. I don't know what I'll do when I run out. Nothing else compares. BRING IT BACK!!

Most of you are buying this for 1.99USD, but unfortunately in China its more like 128RMB- about 15USD... I bought it due to all the rave reviews here on MUA. So far I've found it's quite difficult to apply because it dries so quickly, and its ultra thin formula does not make for great coverage but its easy to layer so this is not a problem. Despite these setbacks the overall finish is perfect, it makes my skin look natural yet covers most imperfections and it doesn't rub off. However, ONLY USE THIS IN THE SUMMER because it can be very drying..

It is the best foundation I've ever chosen. the oil-free formula helps me to control the shine well in summer greasy afternoon~ with a satisfying mat finish.and the light texture melt into skin tone quickly and leave skin looks clean. but it seems not stay long enough all day, you have to use it together with the loose powder.

Only tried this due to the many rave reviews from MUA'ers and went to cosmeticsandmore.com as suggested -- all I can say is that for $1.99, I was utterly amazed at the quality of this stuff! I bought 6 since they will probably disappear soon, and I'm hoping that they don't start disintegrating on me. At the cheap price, though, so what if they do? The mixing ball may help extend the life of this line - SO sorry they have been discontinued. What a fabulous finish. THANKS, MUA friends!

Bring it back!! This stuff was great, super-mattifying (found it could be a little drying on my cheeks) and very natural looking. But has since been discontinued in NZ in favour their evil skin-perfecting (ha!)foundation.

Although i only sampled this, i do love revlon/almay foundations. based on the reviews, i am assuming it is really good over time. If some of you who are searching for these, www.cosmeticsandmore.com are selling these for a very, very cheap price. I came across it when i was shopping for my discontinued items, and this store is actually a branch from the manufacturers of revlon/almay, so it is not a rip off! Hope this helps.

Are you aware that ingredient #3 is RUBBING ALCOHOL? Yikes. I see why the oily-skin types love it. The color is fantastic, the texture is good, the coverage light/medium, and the alcohol would surely prevent breakouts. It would deserve every bit of five lippies if I had very oily skin. However, it was too hard-core for my combination skin. Oh, I almost forgot--$1.99 at Big Lots. They only had it at one of the two Big Lots near me, though. But the one that had it had almost every shade.

Thanks to all the glowing reviews here, I really wanted to try this, but the only shades I could find at Big Lots were the very lightest and darkest... until recently when I found tons of it in pretty much every shade! No testers, but I knew I was a Medium Beige from my ColorStay experience years ago so I snagged a couple of those along with Natural Tan (so I could tint it for the summer).
The reviews held true for me. This has a runny liquidy texture that you have to blend rather quickly, but it gives nice matte light to medium coverage that just seems to even everything out without looking 'made up'. I love how well it stays matte but doesn't feel dry. Testers would have been nice. I'm a C3 and the Medium Beige is a good match, though I'd prefer a tad more yellow to neutralize my German ruddiness. Fortunately I was able to mix some Natural Tan with it and it's now a much better match. For the price, it's worth picking up a couple different shades to make sure you get a good match. Clear bottles would help, but seeing as this stuff has to be shaken before use(there's a little marble inside) I assume this separates when not in use and it would look rather unsightly in clear bottles...
So, if you've been disappointed with the selection lately, go check again!

This is my HG of foundations. I have an oily T zone and this is the only foundation ever to match my skin perfectly (in Nude) and to not make my face shine like a beacon by the afternoon. Absolutely brilliant stuff!!!
And thanks for letting me know it has been discontinued (that would explain why it was half price in the January sales). Was sauntering through Myer on Sunday and found they still had a heap left at half price, so I bought 4 bottles and they're sitting in my fridge!!!
Don't know what I'll do when they run out, probably cry . . .

I bought this foundation whilst in desparation South Africa realising i had packed no face makup for my holiday. At first it seemed really watery but it did wonders for my oily acne-prone skin as well as giving me sun protection.
For the amount i payed for it over there i wish i had bought i wish i had bought more than one. The only downside was it had to be blended in to my jawline with moisturiser because within a few seconds it dried.
I was really butted when i got back to britain and found they didnt sell it anywhere.
The most similar foundation i was able to find was Helena Rubenstein Colour clone, this had the same runny quality that was not to thick and cakey but was extremely expensive and not quite as good.
All I want is this amazing foundation back.

    Ladies,
I wrote the Revlon Company and this is what they had to say:
"Sometimes, because of fashion trends and limited consumer demand, it becomes necessary to discontinue an otherwise excellent product.
Unfortunately, Shine Control Mattifying Makeup is no longer being manufactured.
At this time, we have no other product that would be a suitable substitute.
We understand that the exclusion of favorite products may sometimes leave consumers in a dilemma. Discontinued products are often available at one or more of Revlon's company stores and, can be ordered through a mail order service offered at each store. The store numbers are Oxford, NC 888-882-5629 and Phoenix, AZ 888-465-5592.
If we can be of further assistance in helping you locate your favorite products, please call our Consumer Information Center toll-free at 1-800-473-8566. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Any of our representatives will be glad to assist you."

    Happy Holidays ladies!
    Update, 2/4/05

i didnt really like it at the beginning. but after using it for a little bit longer, i actually love this foundation a lot! it does get a bit oily few hrs later, but doesnt feel heavy at all. The color 02 Buff is actually pale and yet has enough yellow in it which look sooo good on me as I have VERY pale oliver skin that is quite impossible to find a foundation that actually match my skin color. too bad they d/c it :[ glad i have stocked up 5 tube! (still got 4 tubes new havent used lol) Hopefully by the time i finish all 5 tubes, there will be another foundation that works better than this one!

I emailed Revlon to complain, and asked why they keep inferior products and lose the freat ones,
    no response.

I picked this up at BIG LOTS some time ago for quite a bargain. I didn't think anything of it but decided to try it to compare it to Revlon's Colorstay. This is comparably better. Had I known that it would work so well, I would have stocked up on it. It's extremely watery and feels very light on the skin. Light to Full Coverage. I don't go to BIG LOTS often, but since it ended up there, is this item discontinued?

Just when you find something that you really LOVE... they toss it on ya! I liked this foundation a lot and the nude shade was a great match, now it's gone. Since there are so many of us MUA ladies that liked it... we should bambarde Revlon with e-mails. Maybe they will re-market this great stuff!
